To complete this encounter, players must simultaneously aid Kalec in killing Sathrovarr the Corruptor, while subdueing Kalecgos' dragon form, in order to set him free.The key to this fight is to set up a proper portal maple story mesos. (However, a paladin with skill and luck may have a chance to solo hogger starting from level 8.) For years it has been a running joke that the level 11 elite Hogger should be a high level raid boss. Every server will have heard talk of a 40-man Hogger run or re-rolling a bunch of level 1's just to tackle this insurmountable foe.

Kalecgos is one of the few surviving blue dragons, a servant of the great Aspect Malygos He disguises himself as a half-elf, calling himself Kalec. Due to the blues being most in tune with magic of all the aspects, Kalec has the powers of a sorcerer and the strength of a warrior. In the Sunwell Plateau raid, the encounter with Kalecgos is on two fronts, literally. The "Physical" front is the one players engage the blue dragon head on, in the physical world, but soon after encountering Kalecgos, portals open up to a much darker, maple story mesos called the Inner Veil, where you find that the half-elf form of Kalecgos is battling against Sathrovarr the Corruptor.
 
Due to the enrage mechanic, Sathrovarr and Kalecgos need to be brought down nearly simultaneously. Usually, Sathrovarr's health drops slower than Kalecgos, therefore it's crucial to make good use of the portals.In theory, each portal can be used by up to 10 players before it expires. Due to practical problems, it's better to reduce maple story mesos while learning the encounter to 5, so that only 6 people have to use each portal - this results in four groups.
